The second time I saw John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers perform was at Jernvallen in Sandviken, a sports arena with very bad acoustics, not a very suitable place for music. Peter Green and John McVie had left the band (to form Fleetwood Mac) and John had set up a completely new band, now also with two brass players (Dick Heckstall-Smith and Chris Mercer). The guitarist was also new. A very young and shy Mick Taylor (yes it’s the same Mick Taylor that would join The Rolling Stones about a year later).

I remember that I was not so impressed by the band this time. Probably due to the bad acoustics and the new sound of the band.
